담순대 2호점은 1호점의 전통적인 분위기는 조금 줄이면서 깔끔하고 세련된 느낌을 강조하고자 하는 방향에서 출발하였다. 주방 입면의 지붕 디자인은 유지하되, 전통적인 아름다움을 위해 조성되었던 목재 구조물 디자인은 삭제하고, 입면 자체를 목재로 마감하여 깔끔한 이미지를 살렸고 홀의 입면 디자인도 이에 맞추어 전체 면을 깔끔하게 정리하는 방향으로 진행하였다. 이동가구 또한 기존의 목재 테이블에서 석재 테이블로 변경하여 세련된 느낌을 더하고자 하였으며, 조명 또한 한지로 제작되었던 펜던트 조명을 보다 정갈한 형태의 조명으로 교체하여 예스러움을 덜어내고자 하였다. 외부 입면도 내부 디자인에 맞추어 목재 구조틀 디자인은 배제하고 최대한 깔끔하게 정돈하는 방향으로 진행되었는데, 기존 1호점의 외부 지붕 디자인을 새롭게 해석하여 담순대가 가지고 있는 전통의 이미지 자체는 최대한 유지하고자 노력하였다.
The Damsundae second branch began with the goal of reducing the traditional atmosphere of the first store while emphasizing a cleaner and more sophisticated look. While the roof design of the kitchen façade was retained, the wooden structural elements that had been used to highlight traditional beauty were removed. Instead, the façade itself was finished with wood to create a neat and refined appearance. The hall’s façade design was also simplified to match this approach, with an emphasis on clean, continuous surfaces.
The movable furniture was updated from the wooden tables used in the first branch to stone tables, adding a more modern and elegant touch. Likewise, the pendant lights—previously made of traditional hanji paper—were replaced with simpler, more streamlined fixtures to reduce the sense of old-fashioned charm.
The exterior design followed the same direction as the interior, omitting the wooden structural frames for a more minimal and orderly appearance. However, by reinterpreting the roof design from the first store’s exterior, the design sought to preserve Damsundae’s traditional brand identity while expressing it in a contemporary way.
